Call USAA at the 1-800 number. Now if you answered these people call USAA and change all your Security Questions….ONLINE AND PHONE……..

    Phone Number Report:

… if they only ask you for information that is on file, then why call at all? Why not just send me a message through the USAA website like they do for mortgage and investments? Ask me to go to the site, login, and then take me to a page with all the data fields they need reviewed, and ask me to verify/edit, and then require me to check on a “verified as accurate” radial button or something? I do not like the calls and it is so easy to move to others these days. 34 years of USAA’ness would be a shame to toss in the bin, and my wife’s account and both teenage kids account would migrate with me.

Now look at Professional Survey Inc’s (the caller’s) website professionalsurveys.com and you can see the first item under performance is “Identifying policy uprate potential”. They are all about bringing in incremental income to their clients like USAA.

As others noted it is legit. As someone noted, as a leader in web technology, USAA could easily do this on-line rather than pesky callers. It is all about raising your rates. As soon as my son approached driving age they started calling every six months, chomping at the bit to jack up my rates. Stuff like this and forcing you to use aftermarket parts are indicators that USAA’s mission has changed from one of premier service to one of maximizing revenue.

Listen, if a scammer has your phone number, they may have already had your address as well. Scammers may have sent your “letter from USAA”. Why not be safe and call your old USAA number? I have recently moved, and updated all things USAA. I got no “third caller updating information” letter; but I did just get this call. The scammers don’t have my address yet, so I got no letter. Do not give info over the phone, unless you made the call. Also, if you get this call and they say to call usaa…call a different number first. Sometimes scammers stay on the line, you think you are calling your company, but you are not calling anyone, the scammers are actually still on the line! So, to be safe, call your parents first and see if “USAA” answers.

We too have been with USAA for a VERY long time. We received no notification, but just got the same call as everyone else herein. Anti-scam teaching 101 says NEVER to call back an unfamiliar number – the message left provided 1-888-734-8722, which I’m pretty sure is not the same as 1-800-531-USAA. I burned about half an hour actually getting a person at the latter (strike one), and another half an hour (strike two) explaining why this was absolutely unacceptable to me. In recent years we have seen USAA decline in both their service and behavioral levels, which is fast approaching strike three. Premium prices for so-so insurance is giving me a frowner face.

Well I called USAA 3 times. The first time I got transferred to credit card fraud (really?). The second time I talked to someone in insurance who said it sounded like a scammer to them but they couldn’t report it to anyone in USAA. The third time I called I talked to a guy in insurance who said they do have a 3rd party calling their customers, but he wasn’t sure of the name but thought PSI sounded right. I didn’t receive a letter or an email, although I did just send USAA an email regarding this. I do NOT appreciate my info being sent to a third party. I trust USAA with multiple things, but am beginning to question that since they not only sold my mortgage to an disreputable firm, but also seem to be farming out the insurance side of things now. Very concerning for USAA customers.

I never respond to any of their requests for information updates on my car or house insurance. Now this concerns me that your mortgage was sold to a disreputable firm by them. Ughh. The insruance companies are getting greedier and greedier.

Relating to bad history a few years ago when ‘USAA Contractor’ called to update my property insurance info, and in short time USAA bumped up my policy premium by several hundreds! This is a similar SCAM to me!

I worked for these scumbags many years ago. They are a “legitimate” company, but what they do totally sicks. They provide a service to insurance companies who hire them to “confirm” your policy information. It’s basically an audit of what your agent put down as the variables affecting the cost of your policy. Whatever PSI uncovers that creates an increase in your insurance bill, PSI gets a cut of the action. So let’s say that your kid just turned 17, and you mention that to PSI. BOOM. Your insurance rate is going to go up. What’s that? You say you drive 40 miles to work? (maybe your agent put 39 miles to cut you a break on rates…) BOOM! Your rate is going up, and PSI will get a cut of it.

Not to mention that the owners of the company have no ethics. The founder is a total pig who hired only women to do his bidding, and he openly sexually harassed us in the days before there was much recourse for that kind of thing. I hope karma catches up with his nasty ass and does him like he tried to do me on that bogus business trip to Florida, way back when.

Don’t answer any of their questions. Call your agent directly to discuss your information.

We routinely contact our members to verify that the driver and vehicle information associated with their policy is still current. Even so, I do understand your concern, so I removed your phone number from our outbound call list.

Called USAA today and had our number put on their internal DNC list. PSI will NEVER call us again. I don’t mind confirming w/USAA directly; but, I do NOT do any phone surveys including business ones. I agree that is would be simpler to have us login to a secure site and “verify” info from USAA website. Call and ask that you be put on the DNC list. Hope this helps :0)
